Progress is happening!

It's been some time since my last post but perhaps from the photos you'll see why!?

Day 15- Drywall goes up

Day 17- the start of the plaster going up

Day 23- we have tile (24x24)

Day 23- plaster is finished with the first coat and the tile has grout.

Day 24- cabinets arrive

Day 24- kitchen is ready for cabinets

Day 25- Cooper is helping put the cabinets together.

Day 25- Cooper and Bryan putting more cabinets together.

Day 25- There they are! Assembled and ready for the installers.

The cabinets should be installed today! I'm hoping I'll have time to post an update again if indeed that is the case.

Construction Update

Here are some photos from the past few days. I've been pretty busy with Cooper's school festival so I've had little time to post.

Day 8- Look NO floor!Day 8- Yikes! No floor in the kitchen. That is the old fireplace.

Day 11- Bryan checking out the progress. Keep an eye out on the wall behind Bryan. Notice it's solid- no doorways.

Day 11- Look at all that stuff! All the old walls had to come out so we could wire and put in much needed insulation. This old house never had any! No wonder our bill was so high for so many years. Day 12- The downstairs hallway getting framed for the new pantry. We decided the hallway was a lot of unused space.
Day 12- We punched this new doorway in the wall so we could build the pantry in the old hallway. This was not part of the original plan, but one Bryan really wanted to add. I will have to agree with this idea!

Day 12- Another view of the new doorway.

Go Dawgs!

We went to Starkville for our first game of the season. I didn't know you could have a football score of 3 to 2!? The boys had so much fun getting their annual MSU tattoos. They got to pick what they wanted- do you think they have enough? Quinn did NOT want one on his face.

Under Construction

All the walls are out, but not the dust!

Day One- looking in from the back porch towards living room.

Day One- looking from living room to back porch.

Day 3- looking from living room towards back wall.

The chimney is gone! There's nothing but a huge hole now.

Look at all those bricks! We'll reuse these to pave a patio in the backyard.

Day 5- looking out to the family room.

Now what? I wonder how long it will take them to finish this project. Contractor tells us 6 weeks. Errr, we'll see. My money is on 9 weeks.

The letter of the week is P!

I went to Quinn's school early this morning to make banana Pancakes for his class.
Quinn helped me cook.

He ate every last bite! Surprised? Not!

Happy Birthday!

What a wonderful Birthday! Thanks to my ever sweet husband and dear friends who helped me celebrate! Thanks for all the emails and phone calls!

Paula and I went to Sugarcoat for pedicures in the evening before dinner. We enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco while we relaxed over conversation and pedicures. We then changed and headed off to dinner at Parish in Inman Park. After dinner we went Wii Wii Wii all the way home where Bryan had my birthday gift set up and ready to go- A Wii! He had been busy putting it together with Eric while Paula and I were out getting pedicures. Apparently they had been working on this plan for a few weeks. Huge thanks to Paula and Eric for all the leg work they did in helping Bryan pull this one off!

It was a great birthday weekend!

Nice toes!

Eric, Paula, Bryan and Angela

Good Drinks!

Carolina Crab Claws Bordelaise! YUMMY!! I get these every time. I could make a meal out of these little guys! If you get a chance to go to Parish I highly recommend you try these.

Rock and Roll, baby!

Cooper started taking guitar lessons in school last week so we headed out to buy him an electric guitar this weekend. He picked out just the right guitar and strap to fit his style. He really gets a kick out of playing it!

Quinn will play a little bit but he'd much rather be playing hockey!

In this video he's singing along to Matt Costa- one of the house favorites! It's so cute to watch them sing "our songs".
